Flock

March 20, 2008

I just discovered Flock, the social web browser. That’s how they advertise. They offer an offline/online blog post plugin, which I am trying out right now.

Getting Started | Flock

Looks promising, but need yet to try out the features.

Updated: After my first euphoria I realised that Flock is not particularly new. But what I like so far is that it can manage both of my blogs. Both Safari and Firefox got troubled by my two accounts on wordpress and I often ended up posting stuff to the wrong blog. Dito with Flickr. The Blog Editor is simple, but enough, it is easy to post things quickly.

Running again

March 16, 2008

Don’t worry, that’s not going to be a sports blog. May be I should start twittering about my runnings. Or not. But what came to my mind while running, was, that I am probably more a mind blogger than an actual blogger. Often when I am running or on my way with the bycicle I think about. And lately I noticed that I started to think if something would be interesting to blog about. Unfortunately it seems that thinking about blogging somehow prevents the actual blogging. Like having thougt about something actually is enough, may be to get a clearer picture of something or so. And then I often lack the motivation to actually write about it…

Running

March 12, 2008

The second time with the lauftreff. Today there was no slow group. (Last time the slow group wasn’t really slow, at least not in my opinion). But today we started really fast. I didn’t know how far you could go in an hour. The good thing about running in the group

  • It’s motivating
  • The people are very nice
  • and supporting
  • It’s longer than I usually run
  • It’s faster than I usually run.
  • I see places and streets I never were before (and I live know for nearly 15 years in Basel!)

Only one negative point: It’s mostly on paved streets… and my foot is complaining a bit.

As nchenga wrote we were evaluating fitness centers. Beeing tech geeks, we took the evaluation seriously. But today was the day and I subscribed. Started with a power yoga session because of my cold.  Lesson learned:

  1. no big difference regarding the instructions
  2. they don’t negotiate. Obviously, there is no need.
  3. courses won
  4. and the sauna…
